Settlement Day is called in NZ, the day on which a property changes, officially the owner. On the day the purchase price paid and handed over the keys. Our Settlement Day for Kaitoke St. was the day before, on 25 January. That is, the house belongs to us now, officially, no ifs and buts! And of course we immediately canceled on Tuesday with the first things: a garden table with 4 chairs. So we could enjoy our first meal at noon yesterday on the makeshift patio. How should it be different with superb fish and chips from Nannie's. It was beautiful, almost unreal: our own little piece of New Zealand with breathtaking views, the exuberant vegetation and a cicada concert prostration knees.
now is, however, quickly continue with the implementation and extension measures. Next week we start with the Demolition. If all goes as planned, we will move in late March and will live for another 1-2 months on the job site. Just in time for our first visit from Germany, but surely all be ready ... ;-)
